Therapy for Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse
I provide therapy for adults who experienced sexual abuse in childhood. Childhood trauma has been the central focus of my clinical practice since I began my career in 2017. As a result, I have extensive experience treating PTSD, complex trauma, dissociation, and the relational and sexual concerns that can follow childhood sexual abuse.
Our work together can address difficulties with trust and relationships, sex and intimacy, boundaries, shame and self-blame, anxiety and depression, emotional regulation, dissociation, and sense of self. My work is trauma-focused and informed by ongoing training and consultation in complex trauma and dissociative disorders.

My Approach to Therapy for Childhood Sexual Abuse
My approach is informed by the three-stage model of trauma recovery: stabilization, trauma processing, and reintegration. I use this framework flexibly, based on your needs, symptoms, and level of stability.
A Phased Approach to Trauma Treatment
Treatment often begins with stabilization. This may include work on emotional regulation, grounding, safety, boundaries, internal resources, and understanding patterns of dissociation. Trauma processing is not always the first step, and I do not expect clients to begin therapy by discussing traumatic memories in detail.
When there is enough stability and support in place, treatment may move into more direct trauma processing or memory-focused work. I integrate EMDR, Internal Family Systems, attachment-focused therapy, somatic interventions, psychodynamic therapy, and mentalization-based approaches as appropriate.
Later stages of therapy often focus on reintegration: strengthening relationships, developing a more stable sense of self, trusting one’s own judgment, improving boundaries, and building a life that is less organized around the effects of past trauma.
Experience Working With Childhood Sexual Abuse and Complex Trauma
I have focused my clinical work on trauma treatment since 2017 and have extensive experience working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and complex trauma.
I am EMDRIA Certified and a member of both EMDRIA and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. I have also pursued ongoing consultation in EMDR for childhood trauma, Internal Family Systems, dissociative disorders, and related complex clinical presentations.
In addition to my clinical practice, I teach graduate-level courses on violence and abuse in family systems and trauma and stressor-related disorders and treatment. My work is informed by continued training, consultation, and a long-term professional focus on trauma treatment.
