Hi, I’m Summer.
I’m a licensed therapist, content creator, and online educator.
Take a minute to write an introduction that is short, sweet, and to the point.
Hi, I’m Summer
I’m a licensed therapist who is passionate about making our world a more informed, accessible and compassionate world through education about trauma, anxiety, and holistic approaches to healing.
As a survivor of PTSD myself, I know how challenging and confusing recovery and support can feel.
I also know that helping clinicians, teachers, families, and survivors to understand mental health and use techniques that actually work can change the world.

My Why
-
When you understand how your body and brain work, you can work with them strategically to support your well-being and the well-being of others.
-
Learning how to work with the brain and the body is also learning how to communicate more effectively, treat others with more kindness, and have more compassion.
Helping just one person to be more compassion and informed helps everyone else in their orbit.
Upcoming Events
I hold monthly somatic learning sessions on Zoom to provide psychoeducation on practical mental health skills.
You can see upcoming events and purchase tickets here.
I always set aside at portion of tickets on a sliding scale to accommodate those who would not otherwise be able to attend.
If you’re currently in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy or even if you’re just wondering what it would be like to experience this type of trauma healing, you’re probably wondering what you can expect after your EMDR sessions. I hear this from people considering EMDR all the time - what’s going to happen afterwards?
In my work as a psychotherapist specializing in trauma therapy, I’ve seen how pervasive misunderstandings about trauma and memory can be. These misconceptions are more than just innocent errors - they can significantly impact how survivors of childhood trauma view their experiences and healing journeys. Understanding the truth behind these myths has been extremely helpful for many of my clients and for anyone on the path to healing from trauma. Empowering survivors with accurate information, which can be a game-changer in their recovery process, is key to creating a more trauma-informed world.
Surviving childhood trauma is a journey that often leaves deep emotional scars. You might find yourself grappling with feelings of fear, mistrust, or an overwhelming sense of being stuck. Perhaps there are moments when the past seems to echo loudly in your present, making it hard to find peace or joy in everyday life.
You may be asking yourself, “How can I truly heal from my past traumas and live a life not overshadowed by those experiences?”
